Captions now available in English and Spanish 

The closed and media captions for elementary digital interactives are now available in both English and Spanish. This includes all speech and sound effects (e.g., “Happy Music Plays” or “A lion roars! Rawwwr!”). This update allows us to further inclusivity and accessibility for all science learners. 

New Educator Feedback Feature in Twig Science Assessments

Teachers can now give feedback to students on their assessment performance in product! This will strengthen their instructional feedback by having the ability to respond to students directly in their assessments, opening more conversations with their students on their learning journey.

The new troubleshooter page will automatically run diagnostics on your system to check things like your browser compatibility or screen size. If any issues are found, you’ll receive a report outlining what can be improved and guidance on who to contact for further assistance. You can find it in the help area for both elementary and middle school platforms.

New teacher support videos to prepare for hands-on investigations 

Hands-on investigations are even better for educators with brand new videos that not only explain and show what comes in all their science kits, but also videos that demonstrate how to create some of the items needed for the investigations. Videos are located in the Digital Resources area of the Prep Section for educators under the Session Level.  

We will continue to release new videos on a rolling basis, and we’ll let you know as they become available!

Educators can now edit and share assessments with their colleagues — saving time, allowing for flexibility, and making collaboration with colleagues more efficient. Administrators in the program can toggle this feature on or off depending on district needs.

Enhancements to “I Can” Statements Color-Coding in Twig Science Elementary

The “I Can” statements in Twig Science Elementary have now been color-coded in the digital platform to match the color coding in the print books. “I Can” statements appear at the top of every Full and Fast Track lesson in the student digital experience in both English and Spanish.

This enhancement helps students (and teachers) identify their “I Can” statements easily between their print and digital resources.
